Median duration of activities by age and gender

These figures shows median duration of each activity for women and men (top panel) and different age groups (bottom panel). Sample sizes were large (typically N>1,000 for each group) and so even small differences deserve consideration. Most notably, compared to women, men spend more time working, less time on healthcare-related activities as well as shopping and home organization, and more time on sports and exercise, home improvement and gardening. Compared to other age groups, teens spend more time sleeping and on religious activities, whereas the elderly spend more time relaxing and watching television.
